Packaging/Concept Design
FreshFold is a single-dose serum packaging concept that replaces the glass ampoule with a paper-forward, renewable alternative. A fiber-based outer shell, ultra-thin barrier layer, and sugarcane-based PE inner lining preserve formula potency against light and oxygen, while a structural tear-open enables controlled dispensing through a safer, more intuitive opening ritual.
Traditional ampoules, whether glass or plastic, carry real risks: fragility, sharp edges, and a break-and-pour action that offers little control over dispensing. Inspired by aseptic carton systems, the design brings food-grade preservation principles into a beauty context. The outer carton opens through a tear-strip running the full length of the box, revealing a vivid color band beneath and turning the unboxing into a moment of brightness and surprise. Each ampoule then opens through a structural tear-cut, enabling controlled release through a deliberate gesture that removes the risk of shattering. FreshFold comes in two variants, day and night, set apart by tactile surface cues and colors held at equal luminance. A debossed dot on the side panel reinforces variant identity through form, keeping recognition consistent independent of color perception.
